Sustainability

We are serious about tackling climate change and are taking measures to ensure we play our part. At the beginning of 2022, the priority was to create a plan that reduced our waste, particularly the use of plastics. We have begun putting these plans in to action along with some sustainability goals we hope to have in action by the end of 2023.

Packaging

Having identified packaging as a key problem area. We have taken the following steps.

  • Limiting marketing materials. We have removed vouchers and washing instructions, they are now distributed digitally.
  • Switched business cards and swing tags for recycleable paper alternatives.
  • 85% of items on our store are now shipped in plastic free packaging.
  • Packages are only dispatched twice a week in quiet periods, reducing frequency of Post Office collection or drop off.
  • Target of 100% of items to be sent in plastic free packaging by the end of 2023.

Products

As they are integral to what we do, it is important our products are also in accordance with a sustainable and ethical business.

  • All t-shirts are 100% cotton.
  • All t-shirts and hoodies are vegan friendly.
  • We no longer use lamination on standard prints (may vary on limited edition items).
  • By 2023 we aim to exclusively use t-shirts that are GOTS, PETA and WRAP certified.
  • Most t-shirts are printed with Green certified Ultracolour transfers.
  • No item is wasted! Misprinted, damaged or sample products are either sold in clearance events or donated to local charity shops.

Partnerships

When making sustainability commitments, it is vital to work with like-minded suppliers and clients.

For made to order items, our main supplier has the highest standards in limiting packaging waste and using ethical items. Their process is fully plastic free and in line with our plan. For items printed in house, we use Ultracolour transfers which are an eco-friendly waterbased ink heat transfer that is Green Certified.

We have also offered design, print and branding consultancy to some exciting sustainable and vegan start-ups. More information on this work can be found on the portfolio page.
